GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
Başakşehir, which has no coastline, is surrounded by Arnavutköy in the north, Eyüp in the northeast, Sultangazi and Esenler in the east, Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece and Avcılar in the south and Esenyurt in the southwest. It covers an area of approximately 104.33 km2. Natural ground structure in the region; It is composed of “Eocene” limestones.

POPULATION STRUCTURE
Başakşehir is a district formed by the merger of neighborhoods separated from Küçükçekmece and Esenler districts in 2008 and Bahçeşehir Town Municipality. Most of the primary schools in Başakşehir and Istanbul are state-owned official primary schools. An important part of primary education students and teachers providing education services are also within the body of official primary education institutions. There are 23 primary schools, 25 secondary schools, 21 high schools and 5 pre-school education institutions in Başakşehir.
ECONOMIC STRUCTURE
The industrial sector in Başakşehir District has an important place in the economic structure. İkitelli Organized Small Industrial Zone, which is one of the two organized industrial zones within the metropolitan area of Istanbul and established on an area of 700 hectares just north of the TEM highway, has ensured that the industrial sector in the district takes place among other sectors with a large percentage. In addition, there are various industrial facilities in Kayabaşı Location, which is located within the borders of Başakşehir District, which continue their activities on parcel scale.
In Başakşehir District, considering the current situation and the development trends of the region, the new city center of the district is planned in Kayabaşı Region 18, which is planned as mass housing. The commercial areas, administrative centers, training facility areas and parking areas reserved in the approved plans covering the Kayabaşı Site will be of character to serve local and surrounding settlements within the dimensions required by the residential areas and other activities.
In addition, a trade density that will allow commercial uses such as a shopping center for the whole city will be in the vicinity of the 3rd bridge connection road junction in the eastern part of the area in line with the upper scale plan decisions. Commercial areas, administrative centers, education facility areas, etc. This area, which is surrounded by high density residential areas and where other reinforcement areas are dense, is the new center of Başakşehir District, together with the City Hospital, which has been started to be built in the area to the east and continues to work by the Ministry of Health.
